This athame, perfect for the Celtic fire goddess Brigid, is for traditional witchcraft and wicca and has a hand carved oak handle. 14.5 inches in total length, of which the blade is approximately 7.5 inches.
After the success of Paul’s two other goddess athames, his Brass Hecate Flame and Copper Sigil Of Lilith… It was obvious another popular goddess, Brigid, must have her own dagger too! Detailed with Brigid’s cross and in some cases other pagan symbols… The blade has also been patterned on both sides with small recessed equal arm crosses, just like smaller versions of Brigid’s Cross. The blade is a Kris or Flame shape suitable to the fire goddess and goddess of blacksmithing!
The hand forged guards are Celtic spirals in shape and required a great deal of forging, drawing the iron out carefully to 6 inches or more then finely scrolling and curing to create the Celtic spiral effect.
Paul hand cuts the wood after first blessing the tree and assuring it that its gift will be turned into a beautiful and powerful heirloom tool. The wood is always cut cleanly so as to not hurt the tree. It is seasoned for over a year. He then chooses a part that will make an interesting handle and then carves and sands by hand. The result is a silky smooth fine furniture finish where the grain and under bark really pop!
This is a unique hand crafted heirloom quality witchcraft ritual tool, that is truly one of a kind and 100% made by hand by a practicing witch and pagan blacksmith!
