Hathor is the ancient Egyptian goddess of women, fertility, and love. Hathor took on many forms and appeared in a huge variety of roles throughout Egyptian history, from the consort of Ra and Horus to being the sky goddess, and serving as the symbolic mother of the pharaohs. Due to her maternal nature, Hathor was often depicted as a cow or a woman wearing a cow-horn sun-disk headpiece, but sometimes she's also depicted as a lioness, cobra, or fig tree. Hathor is also a solar deity, specifically the feminine counterpart to the sun god Ra, known as the Golden One and the Eye of Ra.
