This sword, perfect for Necromancy, traditional witchcraft, Asatru, norse heathenry, anglo saxon paganism, high magick, Traditional Witchcraft and wicca was forged by Paul, a practicing witch and ceremonial magician, from a single piece of iron bar.
Appox 31.5 inches in total length, of which the blade is 24.5 inches.
The blade has further been stamped and detailed with recessed equal arm crosses. On one side near the hilt is a triple moon symbol plus a large upright pentacle, the rear side also has the triple moon symbol with an averse upside down pentacle. This represents the dual nature of magick and energy, the light and the dark. Also one side of the blade has "I conjure" in theban script (aka witch runes) the reverse side has "I control" also in Theban script.
The handle is hand carved English Graveyard Yew, respectfully cut and seasoned by Paul then hand shaped, and sanded to a fine 400 grit furniture finish.
With its dual nature and Yew handle this is a perfect tool for necromancy, conjuring and controlling spirits and entities.
Close to where Paul grew up in the county of Kent in England there is an ancient church on a ley line. It was a place of druids and Saxons before the coming of Christianity. The church is named after a 9th century Saxon princess with a very pagan folk story about her magick white stag. In the graveyard is a huge and ancient grandfather Yew tree. Paul hand cuts the wood after first blessing the tree and assuring it that its gift will be turned into a beautiful and powerful heirloom tool. The wood is always cut cleanly so as to not hurt the tree. It is seasoned for over a year.
Celts and druids worshipped in groves, and planted yews as their sacred trees. Many ancient churches in England were deliberately placed on top of the old Celtic groves and the old Yew trees remain.
Unique hand forged heirloom quality sword by our pagan blacksmith. Paul is a practitioner of traditional witchcraft and ceremonial magick.
Iron is sacred to Mars.
In Ceremonial magick and some witchcraft traditions the dagger or sword represents the element of air and therefore used to control, banish or destroy.
In some Wicca traditions the sword represents the element of fire and is perfect for a weapon of manifestation and circle casting.
The Tubal Cain mythos also has iron as a tool of our will and apostasy, Yahweh after the expulsion from Eden told Adam and Eve they would have to scrabble among the thorns for their food... But Tubal Cain, 7th son of Cain had other ideas and discovered the working of iron and became the first blacksmith. To the Tubal Cain currents of witchcraft iron is therefore a tool of our will.
In Traditional English cottage witchcraft the Fae Folk are scared of iron and therefore iron tools can be used to protect against or control the Fae.
Each of Paul's swords are unique. There is no plan beforehand, the sword is allowed to manifest as it wills, Paul just helps it along.
