Hephaestus is the Greek god of blacksmiths, fire, and volcanoes, he is also the maker of all the weapons of the gods in Mount Olympus. As a smithing god, Hephaestus was worshipped in the manufacturing centers of Greece, his symbols are the hammer, anvil, and a pair of tongs. Often portrayed as a vigorous man with a beard, Hephaestus was depicted with a crippled foot as a result of his fall from Olympus. Hephaestus is most well-known to be the husband of Aphrodite, although the latter constantly enjoys affairs with several other gods.
